Hatch Mansfield led Bike to Care 2025 raises vital funds for Hospitality Action

September 12, 2025

Bike to Care, the annual charity cycling event in aid of the hospitality industry, took place in Bordeaux on the 16th & 17th June, with the UK team raising over €181,000 to support the UK hospitality industry’s benevolent charity, Hospitality Action.

The event saw Hatch Mansfield trio, Patrick McGrath, Mark Calver and Aaron Turner joined by key personalities from the UK hospitality industry to complete a two-day 200 km ride through Médoc, Graves, and the Bordeaux Right Bank.

  • Grant Campbell from the Nobu London
  • David Connell from the Exclusive Collection
  • Sharon McArthur from the Athenaeum Hotel
  • Nicholas Davies from the Marylebone
  • Dan and Rohaise Rose-Bristow from the Torridon
  • James Hiley-Jones from Greenclose Hotels
  • Peter Dean from the Buyer
  • John Stimpfig from First Press Publishing publications

This is the fourth year of the event, which was set up in 2022 by Pierre-Henry Gagey of Louis Jadot and his Burgundian friends, joining forces with international teams of hospitality personalities, chefs and sommeliers, all cycling to raise funds, initially for those restaurant and hospitality sectors that were badly affected by the pandemic.

The first three events raised nearly €1,000,000 in aid of charitable organisations supporting the hospitality industry across different countries. To date the event has alternated between a 200km route in Burgundy and Bordeaux and the 2026 ride will take place in Champagne.

Fundraising began with a dinner earlier this year at the Nobu Hotel, organised by Hatch Mansfield ‘s Mark Calver raising £151,000 for Hospitality Action.

Hospitality Action provides support for hospitality professionals, which can include assistance for people with disabilities. The charity offers various services, including mental health support, debt and financial advice, counselling, and specialist help for a range of issues, which can help individuals with a disability cope with challenges. Hospitality Action Chief Executive Mark Lewis is a member of the Accessible Hospitality Alliance Advisory Board.
