Alan Coxon is more than a chef—he is a storyteller, innovator and global culinary ambassador. With over 40 years in the industry, winning multiple awards and accolades, Coxon’s journey spans Michelin-starred kitchens, luxury hotels, television screens, and international platforms.

His love for food was sparked as a child in Derbyshire, inspired by his grandmother’s traditional cooking. By 18, he was already honing his craft in Monte Carlo, a first step in a career that would later see him opening and managing the largest four-star hotel in Europe based in Paris.
Beyond the kitchen, Coxon became a familiar face to millions through more than 1,250 food and travel shows broadcast in nearly 90 countries, as regular on Channel 5 Gloria Hunnifords Open House, UK Food and food networks, to developing the much loved Saturday morning cookery shows on BBC 2 with two series of “Ever Wondered About Food”.
His approachable style made him one of the BBC’s Top 10 favourite TV chefs, while his magazine columns, 5 cookbooks and radio programs reinforced his role as an engaging culinary voice.
Equally committed to leadership and advocacy, Coxon serves as “President of the International Taste Institute” Chefs Jury in Brussels and Dubai, he founded “Chefs Sans Frontières International” to support artisan food producers in crisis, and represented global gastronomy as the “British Ambassador for food”, invited to this role by the former British Prime Minister Lord David Cameron, as well as serve as the first European Ambassador for the “Disciples of Escoffier”.
His philosophy, known as “culinary archaeology,” reflects his passion for rediscovering historic recipes and traditions, bringing the past into dialogue with modern dining. For Coxon, every dish tells a story—linking heritage, sustainability, and innovation on the plate.
From television audiences to world leaders, Alan Coxon continues to inspire by proving that food is more than nourishment—it is culture, history and connection.
Alan`s new restaurant adventure is based in Kuala Lumpur where a 40 seat fine dining restaurant will merge lavish design and jewellery throughout, created by J & Kel ,jewellery designers to the Malaysian Royal family.
The restaurant and kitchens have taken 17 months of development and is now set to open its doors on 30th October 2025.
