The final autumn programme of arts, culture, entertainment and music at Birmingham’s Hockley Social Club (HSC) is the biggest to date, say the team behind the venue.
The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), Dave Lee JN, Grooverider, Jeff Innocent, Larry Dean, Marcel Lucont, Mungo’s Hi-Fi, Northants Sings Out, Reginald D Hunter, and Wassifa Sound are amongst a stellar offering of cultural events taking place at the Jewellery Quarter space between September and November 2025.
The announcement follows the news that HSC will close its doors at the end of this year, after reaching the natural end of the project.
A very special December line-up, including a New Year’s Eve programme celebrating the last day of the pioneering dining and culture destination, will be announced soon.
The former print factory, transformed into an all-day, all-night hangout space where food, music and culture collide, is curated and operated by Digbeth Dining Club.
Over 500,000 people have attended a wide range of events – over 5,000 – during HSC’s five-year tenure, firmly sealing the venue’s position as a pioneering and leading voice within the Birmingham and the UK ecosystem.
Jack Brabant, founder and director of Hockley Social Club and Digbeth Dining Club, said: “At the point of announcing this year would be HSC’s last, we made a clear pledge to ensure our remaining months were our biggest and best yet.
“Reflecting the many art forms, sounds and cultures of our city and communities through this major autumn programme is our thank you to the thousands of supporters who have been so loyal over HSC’s lifetime.
“Continuing our commitment to keeping events affordable for all, the vast majority of our tickets are priced between £3 and £14, providing access to great cultural experiences in our award-winning spaces.
“We look forward to welcoming food and music fans from all over the UK to come and celebrate our last stretch in Hockley with us, as we prepare for new projects and investments for 2026.”
Amongst the programme highlights are the BBC New Comedy Awards (Friday 5 September) hosted by star of Taskmaster and Mr. Big Stuff, Fatiha El-Ghorri, joined by award-winning Birmingham comic, Lindsey Santoro, and a return for the popular CBSO Symphonic Sessions (Thursday 18 September) who take over the warehouse for an Oktoberfest-inspired night of Bavarian traditional folk, lively polka rhythms, and a few unexpected contemporary classics.
Closeup Comedy, the city’s leading standup comedy brand, will bring some of the UK’s funniest performers to the Jewellery Quarter stage during autumn, including Adam Rowe, Jeff Innocent, and Larry Dean (Friday 12 September), and Reginald D Hunter (Thursday 2 October), with many more names to be announced, as well as a special line-up for Closeup’s 100th show (Thursday 20 November).
Multi-award-deserving deadpan Frenchman Marcel Lucont arrives with his Whine List tour and live podcast recording at the city venue as part of the season (Thursday 9 October).
Music fans have scores of events to choose from, including a Funk and Soul all dayer with Lucas D and the Ghetto Groove (Saturday 6 September), Plastic Dreams presents Dave Lee JN (Saturday 13 September), We Call It Jazz: A Journey to the Heart of New Orleans (Friday 26 September and Friday 17 October), Sunday Sound: Wassifa Sound (Sunday 12 October), Plastic Dreams presents Grooverider (Saturday 18 October), Northants Sings Out: Club Classics Live on Stage (Friday 24 October), and Mungo’s Hi Fi 25th Anniversary Tour (Saturday 8 November).

Alongside feted resident Jamaican food specialists, West Midlands Jerk Centre, culinary treats will be on offer from award-winning food traders throughout the autumn season.
