Zambrero UK to Open 100 Restaurants by 2030 as It Launches Franchise Recruitment Programme

July 29, 2025

Zambrero, the Mexican-inspired quick-service restaurant franchise, is kick-starting its franchise recruitment programme in the UK to open 100 restaurants by 2030. The expansion plans will create 1,500 jobs, including full and part-time roles.

It is supercharging its expansion by recruiting Franchise Partners to become part of the ‘Zam Fam’ – a large support network of franchise restaurant owners and business support specialists. Zambrero UK is also seeking Area Developers to accelerate its Franchise Partner recruitment throughout the UK.

Zambrero UK is already on its way to achieving its target, having recently signed up its first three Franchise Partners who will open new sites within the next 12 months, including its first site in Scotland.

Zambrero was founded in Australia in 2005 by Dr. Sam Prince, one of Australia’s most successful entrepreneurs and philanthropists. It is now a global brand, with more than 300 restaurants in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Ireland and the UK, and is the largest Mexican restaurant franchise in both Australia and Ireland.

Since its 2021 launch in London, Zambrero UK now has 13 restaurants around England, located in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Reading and Essex.

Zambrero UK is looking for passionate, committed and ambitious Franchise Partners with strong leadership skills and experience in franchise business management. The brand is also looking for multi-site ownership to help drive expansion. No previous hospitality experience is required to own and operate a Zambrero franchise, due to the streamlined processes and easy-to-manage systems, as well as the comprehensive training and ongoing support provided to help Franchise Partners succeed.

Thanks to its simplified operating model and flexible format, Zambrero restaurants can be opened in a range of locations and sizes, from traditional restaurants to bespoke builds, small kiosks and drive-thrus.

Zambero UK is headed by CEO, Emily Teh, who has been with Zambrero Group for over eight years. She is a passionate leader who believes in the soul and heart that is at the core of Zambrero and its “Feel Good Mex” ethos.

Emily Teh, CEO of Zambrero UK, said: “We’re very excited to launch our franchise recruitment programme in the UK. We’ve had a lot of interest in the brand during the last couple of years – and now is the right time for us to expand through our Franchise Partners and work towards opening 100 restaurants by 2030. We also have opportunities for Area Developers to join us and help us achieve our growth plans.

“When you join Zambrero as a Franchise Partner, you become part of our ‘Zam Fam’ and make a commitment to partnering with us to bring an incredible experience to our customers every day. We’re looking for passionate Franchise Partners who can open multiple restaurants. We’ve had great success through multi-site ownership in other markets, including Australia and Ireland, with more than half of our Franchise Partners wanting to go again and open more restaurants. We love this energy and enthusiasm for the brand and hope to find like-minded Franchise Partners here in the UK.”

Zambrero serves Mexican-inspired food with a focus on fresh ingredients, specially crafted marinades and flavour-packed sauces for customers to customise to their own taste. Famous for its burritos and bowls, it also offers vegetarian and vegan menu options.
At the heart of Zambrero is its hugely successful ‘Plate 4 Plate’ humanitarian initiative. Every time a burrito or bowl is purchased at any of its restaurants, Zambrero sends a nutritious meal to someone in need in the developing world via its distribution partner, Rise Against Hunger℠. With the help of its customers around the world, the initiative so far has donated over 90 million meals in the developing world. The combination of delicious freshly prepared food and giving back is why Zambrero call themselves Feel Good Mex.
