Second ScandiKitchen Opens in London Victoria

June 17, 2025

ScandiKitchen, London’s leading Scandinavian food emporium, has opened its second site in London Victoria. Having first opened in Fitzrovia 18 years ago, this is a long-awaited second opening and an exciting next chapter for this much-loved husband-and-wife-led business.

ScandiKitchen Victoria, on 42 Buckingham Palace Road, SW1W 0RE mirrors the successful model of its Fitzrovia sibling, offering both takeaway and dine-in options within an informal cafe style. Open from 7.30 am, it’s a great place to start the day with a selection of coffee or tea, complemented with homemade porridge with a choice of fruit and berry-based toppings. Alternatively, homemade overnight oats or a more indulgent classic Swedish-style cinnamon bun are always good ideas.

For lunch, cold options include their signature open sandwiches, favourites include Nordic smoked salmon with pickled fennel, sweet pickled herring or Swedish meatballs with a creamy beetroot salad, as well as daily changing specials. All are made fresh throughout the day and are deserving of their iconic status. A choice of salads is also on offer, be it super slaw, Scandi-style potato salad or again, one of the many daily specials, all can be enjoyed as a single portion, or mixed.

For those craving a hot dish, ScandiKitchen’s famous, London-favourite Swedish meatballs served with either salad or mash are an ever-popular choice, as is their hot dog. An ideal antidote to the afternoon slump includes an array of homemade biscuits and cakes, such as their perennial best-selling love cakes or dream cakes, which are always available.

ScandiKitchen was founded by Danish-born Bronte Aurell and her Swedish husband Jonas, The pair arrived in the UK 25 years ago and spotted a gap in the market for hungry Scandinavians keen to enjoy a taste of home in London. Relying on Bronte’s love of food and cooking, the pair quickly established their cafe and shop as a place to visit and enjoy authentic Scandinavian cuisine. The pair also created a matching online community via their e-commerce website, scandikitchen.co.uk, delivering over 1,000 authentic Scandi products directly to your door. Likewise, ScandiKitchen also supplies their products to a wide range of restaurants and food businesses via their wholesale arm.

Reaching far beyond its Scandinavian roots, ScandiKitchen is an established part of London’s dynamic global food scene. A cafe for everyone and a greatly appreciated taste of home for many, it has never felt more relevant. Having experienced 18 years in business, Bronte and Jonas have witnessed market upturns, downturns and, of course, Covid, but they continue to evolve. True to what they believe in and experts in their field, opening their second site is an exhilarating next chapter in their upward journey.
