Harrington Street in Liverpool City Centre has seen a lot of redevelopment over the last few years. Tucked away between Castle Street and North John Street the street has now welcomed another addition this month.
Harringtons opens its doors this week. The venue is split over two floors and work started on the refurbishment of the site, which was once upon a time Italian restaurant – Buca di Bacco, earlier in the year and will see 20 new full and part-time jobs created in the local hospitality sector.
The upstairs has a bar on the left hand side as you enter and has a more casual pub vibe with live music on every Friday and Saturday. The basement will have a DJ playing the best of funk, soul, motown and disco at weekends and has three darts lanes which are free to use as well as three pool tables. Both upstairs and the basement have several big screen TV’s scattered around which will also be playing all live sports.
Placed ideally between the business district and the retail areas of Liverpool One, Harringtons is the perfect spot for post shopping drinks or indeed pre Castle Street meal drinks. The venue has an extensive range of draught beer including but not limited to Stouts, IPAs and will also be specialising in frozen cocktails. Ideal to cool off on a long summer night.
Harringtons General Manager David Woods said:
“This has been a long build out stage as the site needed so much work, but luckily we have a great team and the site looks fantastic. We are excited to bring this old building back to life and Harringtons opening has created 20 new full and part-time jobs in the city centre. The venue is the perfect destination for lovers of funk, soul, motown and disco and we also have some great acts booked across the Summer to play live music. Harringtons is a welcome new addition to the city with a very laid back atmosphere throughout the site.”
