Little Fires to bring Mexican-inspired cocktails to Shoreditch this summer

June 6, 2025

Little Fires, a Mexican-inspired new cocktail and late-night bar, is set to open on Bethnal Green Road in Shoreditch this July. It’s the debut project from collective Christian Pecoraro, Florian Schulze, and Horacio Sainz – a team whose experience spans hospitality, music, design and architecture.

The bar’s cocktail list, created in collaboration with the team behind Oaxaca’s acclaimed Sabina Sabe (World’s 50 Best Bars), leans heavily into mezcal, other agave spirits and tequila. Cocktails will be built around clarity, balance and restraint, with contemporary ingredients and twists.

Little Fires will also hold an exclusive UK partnership with Asunción Mezcal, showcasing a curated collection of rare, artisanal mezcals, served both traditionally and through modern interpretations. Alongside the cocktails, the wine list will lean towards natural and low-intervention.

In the kitchen, Rodolfo Castellanos – winner of Top Chef Mexico and chef-owner of Origen Oaxaca – will lead with a concise menu of Oaxacan-inspired snacks and small plates such as tostadas, elotes and ceviche. Designed to complement the drinks list, the food offers bold, bright flavours perfect for grazing late into the night.

Housed within an emblematic Grade II-listed historical building just moments from Shoreditch High Street station, Little Fires spans two floors. The 85-cover ground floor bar and dining room features natural materials and soft lighting – original timber floors, low-slung leather banquettes, ochre walls and a long, marble-topped bar. , and so downstairs, a Hi-Fi vinyl listening speakeasy bar, featuring an immersive mezcaleria experience will stay open late. Music is central to the identity of Little Fires, and the project will be soundtracked by a rotating programme of vinyl and live sets curated by Mauricio Díaz; with a focus is on ambient, jazz, dub and lo-fi electronics. DJs will play regularly in the space, with further collaborations and listening events to be announced.

‘’Little Fires is about rhythm and energy, but with real attention to detail,” says co-founder Christian Pecoraro. “It’s sophisticated, yes, but never stiff – we want people to feel the warmth the moment they walk through the door.”
