Accessible Hospitality Alliance Welcomes Meiko UK and The Kitchen Porters Club as New Sponsors Following Groundbreaking aha Forum

June 28, 2025

The Accessible Hospitality Alliance (aha) is proud to announce the addition of two distinguished sponsors to its growing network of supporters: Meiko UK, recently honoured with a Royal Warrant by His Majesty King Charles III, and the Kitchen Porters Club, a vibrant community championing the unsung heroes of hospitality.

This expansion of aha’s sponsorship base comes in the wake of the hugely successful aha Forum, in Partnership with Thomas Franks, an event that has been widely praised as a landmark moment in the movement to create a more inclusive hospitality industry.

Celebrating Purpose-Driven Partnerships

Meiko UK, renowned for their innovative and sustainable warewashing solutions, brings not only technical excellence but a deep commitment to supporting a more accessible and environmentally responsible hospitality future. The company’s recent recognition by King Charles III with a Royal Warrant is a testament to its values and leadership in the sector.

The Kitchen Porters Club, known for uplifting and celebrating kitchen porters, the backbone of every professional kitchen, joins the aha as a sponsor with an equally meaningful purpose. Their recent celebration of the dynamic duo at The Crumbs Project highlights their commitment to recognition, inclusion, and opportunity.

Supporting Momentum for Change

The aha Forum demonstrated that purposeful action, when shared by people and organisations who care deeply about the future of hospitality, can lead to real, systemic change. The addition of Meiko UK and the Kitchen Porters Club reflects a growing belief across the industry that accessibility must be foundational, not optional.

Paul Anderson, Managing Director of Meiko UK and chair of the Kitchen Porters Club set out why both brands are joining the Accessible Hospitality Alliance: “Accessibility and inclusion needs to be part of our industry’s DNA, as such the aha’s purpose aligns with both Meiko UK’s and the Kitchen Porters Club’s. We are delighted to join this movement for positive change.”

Robin Sheppard FIH, chair, Accessible Hospitality Alliance

Robin Sheppard, co-founder and chair of the Accessible Hospitality Alliance, responded saying: “We are delighted to welcome both Meiko UK and the Kitchen Porters Club as sponsors.

“Each in their own way stands for excellence, purpose, and inclusion. Their support strengthens our ability to accelerate accessibility and create opportunities for people living with disability across our industry.”

As the AHA continues to build a coalition of changemakers, the support of values-driven sponsors like Meiko UK and the Kitchen Porters Club sends a powerful message: the future of hospitality is accessible and inclusive, and everyone has a role to play in making that future a reality.
