A Landmark Partnership in Highland luxury

June 8, 2025

Scotland’s premier boutique hotel group, Sonas Collection, unveils a one-of-a-kind, ultra-luxury Highland journey in collaboration with Skye Luxury Touring.

In a bold new chapter for high-end Scottish tourism, the Sonas Collection has launched the country’s first same-brand tour, seamlessly connecting the Highlands and Islands. The exclusive tailor-made journey ensures that every mile travelled by land, sea and air is as memorable as the destination itself.

After four years of collaboration, Sonas Collection and Skye Luxury Touring are taking their partnership to new heights with a meticulously curated four-night experience. Set against the majestic backdrop of Scotland’s western Highlands and Islands, the new Sonas VIP West Highlands & Islands Experience offers travellers a rare opportunity to explore the raw, untamed beauty of Oban, Mull, Glencoe, Skye and beyond, all in five-star elegance.

From luxury Mercedes transfers and bespoke chauffeur-guided touring, to the thrill of travelling by private helicopter, taking off from the lawn of Knipoch House Hotel and sweeping over coastlines and castles to the Isle of Skye, this is Scottish travel reimagined.

Designed with discerning global travellers in mind, particularly the high-net-worth guests increasingly seeking transformative, bespoke experiences, the itinerary blends heritage, hospitality and exclusivity in equal measure.

Highlights include:

  • A Mercedes transfer to Oban, Scotland’s seafood capital, where guests check in at the charming Knipoch House Hotel, Sonas Collection’s only mainland property
  • A private day tour to the Isle of Mull with gourmet dining and wildlife encounters
  • A scenic drive through cinematic Glencoe and past the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by the Harry Potter films
  • Arrival on Skye by helicopter taking in breathtaking aerial views of the island’s dramatic landscapes
  • Two indulgent nights on the Isle of Skye at Duisdale House Hotel, a signature Sonas property
  • Lunch served at Skeabost House Hotel on the north of the island, with opportunities to savour Scotland’s natural larder in an intimate dining experience

For Anne Gracie-Gunn, owner of the Sonas Collection, this offering is more than a business move; it’s a return to the roots of her family’s love of Highland hospitality.

Anne Gracie-Gunn, owner of Sonas Collection, said: “When we first opened Toravaig, my late husband and I used to take guests out sailing on our yacht, Solus, sharing our love for the Hebridean seas with the island’s visitors. This new journey feels like we’re returning to that spirit, sharing this corner of the world with people who want to experience it in a meaningful, luxurious way.

“What started as a passion project has grown into a collection of family-run boutique hotels and now, thanks to a £1 million investment and the opening of our Knipoch House Hotel last year, we’re able to offer something truly unique, a luxury experience on Scotland’s West Coast. This exciting new partnership allows guests to discover both the rugged romance of Skye and the coastal charm of Oban in a seamless journey across all our properties. It feels like the business has come full circle, only the experience is more exceptional than ever.”

With Skye Luxury Touring offering insider access to hidden gems, filming locations, castles and distilleries along the route, every element has been thoughtfully crafted to offer an experience that is shaped entirely around the guest.

Craig Murray, Managing Director, Skye Luxury Touring said: “At Skye Luxury Touring, we’re very excited to be deepening our long-standing partnership with Sonas Collection, to curate this exceptional multi-centre luxury touring experience.

“By combining our luxury vehicles and expert local driver guides, with the elegance and comfort of Sonas properties; we’re offering a truly elevated way to explore the Western Highlands and Islands. It is set to be a true one-of-a-kind tour that redefines luxury in Scotland, and we can’t wait to bring it to life.”

Katheriona Dowling, Managing Director at The Old Sod Travel Collection commented: “We’ve sent thousands of clients to Scotland over the past decade, and what they consistently ask for is authentic, curated luxury. With Sonas and Skye Luxury Touring combining their expertise, we now have a product that’s truly unique, and we’re already recommending it to our top-tier American travellers.”

As affluent travellers continue to favour deeper, slower and more exclusive experiences, the Sonas Collection’s new offering speaks directly to the growing desire for destination immersion paired with world-class comfort.

The Sonas VIP West Highlands & Islands Experience is now available for private bookings, with bespoke itineraries tailored to guests’ individual interests. Minimum group size is four guests. Enquiries can be made directly with Skye Luxury Touring, who will provide a personalised quote based on their chosen itinerary and preferences.
