Thomas Franks opens its doors to accessibility

April 16, 2025

Thomas Franks is set to welcome a cross section of industry leaders in accessibility to The aha Forum taking place at one of their client venues, Urban Farmer Project, Shoe Lane, City of London on 11 June.

The event enables delegates to collaborate within sessions on topics already influenced by them as well as input from members of the Accessible Hospitality Alliance Advisory Board, and Ambassadors.

Through interactive discussions, delegates will share their experiences, views, and advice on crucial advancements in accessibility including fostering an accessible culture, the inclusive workplace, and the provision of accessible guest facilities and services.

Attendees will also enjoy panel discussions sharing invaluable accessibility insights and strategies with leading lights from across our industry.

The event partnership between Thomas Franks and Accessible Hospitality Alliance evolved through a series of meetings, where shared values, culture, and purpose were evident immediately.

Robin Sheppard FIH, chair, Accessible Hospitality Alliance

Robin Sheppard, chair, Accessible Hospitality Alliance shared his enthusiasm for and appreciation of the partnership saying: “For a great many years I have tried my best to advocate the benefits to our industry that are available from being more accessible to people living with disability. It has always made good business sense to do so, and many do, including the UK’s largest independent hotel group Bespoke Hotels.

“Yet we mustn’t be complacent, as we move further into the 21st Century, our industry needs to become fully inclusive, there are no half measures, we need to welcome all. Welcome all into our workplaces and have a welcome for all to enjoy hospitality within our venues.

“This can only be achieved through establishing partnerships with like minded businesses and people that share this goal working together. People and businesses that assign purpose to what they do, and develop values and culture aligned to their living out and achieving their purpose. We were delighted when we found such a partner in Thomas Franks.”

Frank Bothwell, Founder and CEO at Thomas Franks, said: “We are proud to be supporting this important event. This industry has a good heart and a determination to enact change for people who need a bit of extra support, but sometimes good intentions aren’t enough.

“The aha Forum will push us towards actual solutions and, I hope, lead to real change. My team and I are looking forward to the event immensely, and are delighted to be playing a small part in driving these important conversations forward.”
