NoMad London has announced the appointment of Serena Lightner as General Manager. With over 30 years of experience in the global hospitality industry, Lightner brings a distinguished history of success to the Grade II-listed, 91-room luxury property in London’s Covent Garden.

Lightner’s extensive hospitality career began in 1997 at the renowned Mercer Hotel in New York City, where she steadily advanced from Front Office Manager to leadership roles as Director of Sales and General Manager. From there, she expanded her international experience, overseeing luxury resorts in Italy and South and Central America as Vice President of Resorts for Francis Ford Coppola. Returning to New York City, she served as Managing Director at The Standard East Village, marking a pivotal chapter in her U.S. hospitality career.
Eventually, Lightner’s reputation as a trusted authority in the industry led her to London, where she served as Managing Director at Chiltern Firehouse from 2014 to 2018. She then built a successful hospitality consultancy based in New York City. The experience provided her with several more years of collaboration with owners and operators of luxury hospitality properties worldwide.
As a key industry expert, Lightner’s unique talents combine intellect, warmth, and intuition to elevate guest service while driving operational excellence with precision and care.
Speaking of her latest appointment Lightner said: “I am so happy to return to London and be the steward of this gorgeous property as we embark on a new era.”
