Rudy’s on its way to West Bridgford opening this summer

April 15, 2025

Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana has confirmed that it will bring its relaxed dining experiences and renowned Neapolitan pizzas to Nottinghamshire’s West Bridgford this summer.

The new pizzeria will be located in the heart of West Bridgford, transforming the former Black Pearl Pub building on Bridgford Road, which has stood vacant since January 2023. The venue will offer 105 covers inside, plus a large 70-seat outdoor seating area – perfect for its launch this summer.

Following the success of its existing venue in Nottingham city centre which opened its doors in November 2023, the brand is continuing its mission to bring its well-loved neighbourhood concept closer to fans and the new launch marks the brand’s second location in Nottinghamshire.

The new spot will deliver a fresh new dining option to West Bridgeford’s food and drink scene, offering its famous pizzas, delicious dips, and classic Italian desserts. Whether dining with family or friends, guests can enjoy Rudy’s signature relaxed vibe while indulging in the brand’s iconic and exciting menu right on the high street.

Since launching in 2015 in Ancoats, Manchester, Rudy’s quickly gained a cult following for its authentic Neapolitan dough and quality ingredients, and the new restaurant will mark the brand’s 32nd opening across the UK.

Born out of passion for pizza, Rudy’s follows the authentic Neapolitan tradition of pizza-making, serving classic recipes such as Marinara, Margherita and Calabrese – all originating from Naples, the birthplace of pizza. Rudy’s also pays homage to famous pizzerias around the globe with its rotating specials, bringing interesting and exciting flavour combinations to its fans.

Rudy’s dough is made fresh daily using Caputo ‘00’ flour which ferments for at least 24 hours, alongside the best quality ingredients from Naples, including San Marzano tomatoes grown on fields next to Mount Vesuvius, and fior di latte mozzarella.

In accordance with authentic Neapolitan techniques, the dough is cooked in a Stefano Ferrara oven for around 60 seconds – resulting in a soft and light pizza with an airy and raised cornicione (the edge or rim of the pizza).

While renowned for their first-class pizzas, Rudy’s are keen to provide a full Neapolitan experience through a well-stocked bar. Customers will be transported to the Italian sun whilst sipping on iconic spritzes, ice-cold local lagers and a multitude of soft drinks ready to excite the tastebuds.

Commenting on the new West Bridgford opening, Neal Bates of Rudy’s, said: “We’re absolutely buzzing to bring Rudy’s authentic Neapolitan pizza to more people in Nottinghamshire as we open in West Bridgford. Our mission is simple: to share the rich flavours of Naples with the locals and create a warm, welcoming spot to enjoy them in. Whether it’s grabbing a quick bite with friends or celebrating a special occasion, we’re dedicated to bringing people together over great food, good vibes, and a true taste of Italy to the community.”
