Meiko UK supports new Windsor arts venue & plant-based café

April 15, 2025

Other Space Arts, a new grassroots arts venue for the Windsor area, is a welcoming space for all. With a plant-based café/bar and community ‘hub’ on two floors, it is a place where emerging artists can connect with audiences.

Meiko UK donated an undercounter dishwasher to support the new venture. The dishwasher will wash up to 40 racks per hour and is an ideal machine for the mixed loads that the bar generates including beer and wine glasses, crockery, serving bowls and cutlery.

“We support the local community wherever possible,” says Meiko UK Head of Marketing Mark Roberts. “Other Space Arts is a great addition to the local area.”

Matt Fleming and Eleanor Chownsmith founded Other Space Arts, which is based at Kardelton House on the Vansittart Estate (SL4 1SE).

“We’re excited to connect diverse, grassroots artists with audiences in Windsor, as typically people have had to travel to London or Reading to access this kind of music,” explains Matt.

“There’s such a vibrant and creative community here, so we hope OSA can be a home for them, as well as a regular stop on UK-wide artists’ tours,” adds Eleanor. “Thank you, Meiko UK, for the dishwasher donation. It has been busy already because Other Space Arts is off to a flying start.”

A bar is open to all, serving drinks and snacks and featuring live DJs. Booking is advised for the special menus at the plant-based café, which features a rolling programme of guest chefs and cooks, including plant-based chef Chris Nelson and Indian food specialists The Chapati Club.

There is also a range of food at lunchtime, including soups, sandwiches, tacos and more.

There is free parking on the estate (mainly during the weekends, as in the week, it is used by the offices), and it’s easy to pop in for a coffee, eat-in lunch, or a grab-and-go focaccia sandwich. In terms of visitors, OSA welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds. It is a space for groups to hang out, make friends, watch live music, and discover their new favourite bands. It is also child and dog-friendly, so it is great for families, too.

The events programme is as diverse as the local community, with a range of live artists, live DJs, Sunday Blues, Music & Words Club and Underground Live Electronic Music. There is something for everyone to enjoy. Find out more at: www.otherspacearts.com.
