Hollywood Bowl Group, one of the UK’s leading leisure operators, has announced that work has started on its latest bowling and entertainment centre at The Chimes Shopping Centre in Uxbridge, with an investment of £4.2 million.
The 22-lane centre will open its doors for the first time in June and will also create 45 new jobs in a variety of front of house and hospitality team roles.
Stephen Burns, CEO of Hollywood Bowl Group, said: “The launch of our Uxbridge centre marks another significant milestone in our ambitious growth strategy. As we continue to expand our unique offering across the UK, we remain committed to providing state-of-the-art entertainment and high-quality experiences for our customers. This new centre at The Chimes Shopping Centre is a testament to our dedication to investing in local communities and enhancing the leisure landscape nationwide.
This centre is set to become a key leisure destination, providing a fantastic venue for families, friends, and corporate groups to enjoy quality time together. We’re delighted to bring the UK’s best known ten pin bowling brand to the town and look forward to welcoming the local community and creating memorable experiences for all.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Hollywood Bowl to The Chimes,” said Darren Harman, Centre Director at The Chimes. “This exciting addition marks the next step in our transformational period, and we’re delighted to be expanding our leisure offering for our customers.
“Hollywood Bowl’s state-of-the-art entertainment centre will significantly enhance our existing mix, further cementing The Chimes as the destination of choice for every occasion. Whether it’s shopping, dining, or top-notch family entertainment, we’re committed to providing a diverse and engaging experience for all our visitors. This new opening underscores our ongoing dedication to evolving and improving our offering, ensuring The Chimes remains at the heart of Uxbridge’s social and leisure scene.”
The centre will offer classic American food and drink options, such as burgers and hot dogs, and a great range of drinks from the American-style bar and diner. No pin will be left standing as it is set to feature 22 ten pin bowling lanes alongside four lanes of the new game duckpin bowling, which features smaller, lighter balls and shorter lanes.
To help guests keep the competitive spirit going, Hollywood Bowl’s famous arcade area will offer leading games, such as Mario Kart as well as all-time family favourites including air hockey and racing games.
Hollywood Bowl Uxbridge will open in June 2025 and guests can pre-book from April.
