Jos Vranken, President of the Board of Directors, Hotelschool The Hague

Jos Vranken will take on his new role as President of the Board of Directors of Hotelschool The Hague on 1 April 2025, succeeding Regine von Stieglitz.

Roeland Vos, Chair of the Board of Trustees, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Jos Vranken to Hotelschool The Hague. As an experienced executive, he brings strategic insights, extensive knowledge of the tourism, hospitality, and leisure sectors, and strong connections to the national and international industry.

His proven leadership at NBTC, where he introduced the national vision Perspective 2030, will be invaluable in shaping the future direction of Hotelschool The Hague and addressing the challenges ahead.”

With an impressive track record of 17 years as Managing Director of the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions (NBTC), Jos has built extensive knowledge, experience, and networks in the sector. During this period, he collaborated closely with various educational institutions, including through the NBTC-initiated National Data Alliance for the hospitality industry.

For several years, he also served as NBTC’s Director for the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Scandinavia, based in London. Prior to his tenure at NBTC, Jos held roles such as Director of Sales and Marketing at Avenance Netherlands, one of the country’s largest catering companies at the time, and Sales and Marketing Manager at hostel chain Stayokay.

Jos Vranken said: “It is a great honour to become President of this remarkable educational institution, where high-quality education and impactful applied research go hand in hand. Staff and students work closely with the industry to address the complex challenges of today and tomorrow in an ever-changing environment, contributing to a sustainable and thriving future for the industry. Hotelschool The Hague holds an impressive reputation and position within the hospitality industry. I deeply admire the work of Regine von Stieglitz and the organisation in developing and positioning Hotelschool The Hague. I look forward to working with the professionals at Hotelschool The Hague to further strengthen the school’s national and international standing as a beacon of hospitality business education and research. Ultimately, we aim to educate and develop our students into successful leaders in this pivotal industry.”

Regine von Stieglitz joined Hotelschool The Hague in 2016 as Director of Operations and member of the Board of Directors. She was appointed President in 2018 and has led the institution with great inspiration. During the strategic cycle of 2018–2023, the bachelor’s curriculum was innovatively redesigned, the new master’s programme Leading in Hotel Transformation was launched, and the Research Centre further strengthened its reputation.

Regine von Stieglitz stated: “It is with great pleasure and confidence that I hand over the leadership of this esteemed, globally renowned institution to Jos Vranken.”
