Spanish restaurant group, Bar 44, has unveiled a brand-new drinks menu, offering a dynamic mix of handpicked wines, sherry flights, authentic Spanish beers, exciting spritzes and brand-new cocktails.
With venues in Cardiff, Bristol, and Penarth, Bar 44 has become renowned for its modern take on Spanish tapas and drinks, always created with a nod to Spanish flair.
Their new drinks menu refresh promises to bring the same bold flavours and attention to detail that Bar 44 is well known for – but now with an even broader range of options to cater to all preferences.
The new menu has been rolled out across all branches, perfectly timed for the upcoming festive season.
Owen Morgan, co-founder at Bar 44 said: “As always, our unique take on Spain is evident in our new drinks list. The numerous sherry flights have been revamped, and the wine list is freshly scattered with superb new wines sourced from all of our time spent on the ground in Spain this year with producers and our teams. The Natural Andalucia is a big highlight.
“The new cocktail list brings the Spanish kitchen into the drinks list and blends premium spirits with fresh, seasonal ingredients – like in our Salsa Verde Picante Margarita. It also takes inspiration from some of our original 2002 ’44’ offerings, now updated for modern tastes – for instance, our Werthers Not Original, an old fashioned made with brown butter washed rye whisky, amontillado caramel and black walnut bitters.
“Creativity and technique continue to blend with some fun takes on classic Spanish spritzes and sangrias, too – like our Pink Lemonade Sangria, made with rosé vermut, rosé rioja, and our house made raspberry gin.”
New No and Low Options
Bar 44’s new drinks menu also reflects a growing demand for healthier and more inclusive cocktail options, with a broad range of low and 0% alcohol alternatives included as demand for low ABV drinks has continued to grow across the UK; for example, a new 0% Lilt Sangria is made with 0.0% white wine, grapefruit, pineapple, lime.
Owen explained: “We set out with the aim to create one of the UK’s best no/low drinks lists. So, we now have a dozen, really great low/no cocktails, plus cava, red and white wines that we finally think are of good enough quality to list and serve – which hasn’t been the case up until now.
“Beers include classic Estrella Galicia 0.0%, an excellent IPA, and a superb cider from Asturias. We are now at the stage where we could happily serve an exciting and excellent quality no/low paired tasting menu to guests – something we’ll look to offer from the new year.”
Coinciding with the launch of the new Bar 44 Drinks Menu, a brand-new drinks area has just been unveiled in Bar 44 Cardiff – a perfect spot to enjoy cocktails.
