Persian restaurant chain expand further into Fitzrovia

November 9, 2024

Reza and Mohammed Malekzadeh, co-founders of the daytime veg-forward KIN Café in Fitzrovia have acquired the site next door. The plant-based brand is taking over what was Cin Cin restaurant on Foley Street to open a full-service restaurant with an expanded menu.

This will be the cousins’ fifth site with Kin Restaurant and Kin Café joining the three-strong Persian restaurants, Naroon, which expanded earlier this year.

Opening on 18th November and offering an elevated vegetarian and vegan lunch and dinner service, the 32-cover KIN Restaurant will be an extension of its neighbouring sister site, KIN Café, which will continue to serve its signature breakfast, brunch and take-away options.

Executive Chef, Shayan Shams, has created a vibrant menu with dishes such as broad bean croquettes; sous vide cauliflower with butter bean purée; miso-glazed aubergine; and tomato three-ways; all featuring sustainably sourced ingredients.

From the bar, a selection of waste-free cocktails will be available as well as a wide array of craft beers and lager. Proceeds from the house wine list will go to Born Free Foundation, helping care for wild animals in their natural habitats and promoting compassionate conservation.

Operating seven days a week from 12pm – 10.30pm, the restaurant features olive green banquette seating, a unique bar with brass detailing, and a private dining space downstairs for six covers. Natural materials such as timber flooring and reclaimed oak tables complement the décor of KIN Café with each site married together by communal pavement seating.

Mohammad Malekzadeh, Owner and Co-Founder of KIN Restaurant comments: “Following the success of KIN Café, there is a clear and rising demand for elevated and innovative plant-based food. The new restaurant will provide us with a platform to redefine vegetarian and vegan dining with a commitment to offering great-tasting, cruelty free, locally sourced, sustainable dishes. We are confident that KIN Restaurant will enhance the culinary landscape of Fitzrovia.”

Reza Malekzadeh, Owner and Co-Founder of KIN Restaurant comments: “By transforming this space into a full-service restaurant we’re able to bring plant-based dining to a wider audience whilst providing our existing Café customers with an evening dinner option. We’re excited by the huge potential of the new restaurant and believe it will be instrumental to our long-term vision of expanding the KIN brand across London.”
