The sumptuous dining experience that is the Great Chefs Dinner, is set to return for the 13th year, this year taking place on Wednesday 4th December, at the Guildhall in the City of London.
On the night up to 400 guests will be treated to an exclusive four-course menu of exquisite dishes prepared by five of the UK’s most celebrated chefs, as they cook for one night only, to help raise vital funds for Childline.
Creating this year’s gastronomic feast are Adam Handling, owner of the Adam Handling collection, Chet Sharma from Restaurant Bibi, Cal Byerley from Restaurant Pine, Robert Thompson from RT Café Grill and James and Georgia Sommerin from Home at Penarth.
The evening will begin with a champagne reception before the guests are seated to savour what promises to be an exceptional culinary experience accompanied by carefully selected wines paired with each chef’s dish.
The evening will be hosted by Ollie Lloyd and include an opening performance from Capital Children’s Choir, while family face of Antiques Road Trip, Charlie Ross, hosts a luxury live auction.
The money raised throughout the night will help to fund the NSPCC’s vital Childline service.
Childline provides a safe, confidential place for children with no one else to turn to, whatever their worries, whenever they need help. Children can contact Childline 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
A spokesperson from the NSPCC Special Events Team said: ‘’We are thrilled to celebrate the 13th year of our annual charity dinner, which has become a vital part of our mission to protect children and prevent abuse. We’d like to thank our dedicated supporters whose generosity helps us create safer futures for young people.’’
Cal Byerley, Restaurant Pine’s chef-owner said: ‘’I’m always proud to be involved with events like this. Being able to support Childline and help raise funds to help them continue to deliver their free and confidential services helping children and young people is a fantastic thing to be involved with and I’m thrilled to be able to do a little bit to help.’’
Childline has been supporting children and young people for over 35 years. There were over 200,000 Childline counselling sessions with children and young people last year, with on average, a child contacting Childline every 25 seconds.
The 2023 Great Chefs Dinner raised over £300,000, enough to fund over nine days of Childline. With your help, this year’s team of chefs aims to raise even more. By supporting the Great Chefs Dinner, you can make sure our Childline counsellors are there to listen and help children.
