A touch of truffle is enough to make any meal very special but for two weeks every year Kitchen W8 have a menu that is the ultimate special occasion. It’s the opportunity to try four different types of truffle in four dishes, and to appreciate how they can be rich or subtly haunting depending on the variety and how they are used.
With full-on truffle va-va-voom, Mark Kempson’s truffle churros with autumn black truffle are a fitting start. Followed by a delicate white alba truffle served in the classic way with a risotto. There’s an exceptional main course of blackened quail with earthy Périgord truffle. And to finish, a glorious gingerbread and pear dessert elevated with honey truffle.
