Chef Charlie Hodson is walking, solo, from Norwich to London from 8th to 13th October 2024. With no training, support from just his partner, the change in his pocket, and what he is wearing the day he leaves. In support of “Walk of Wellbeing 24” raising awareness & support for Hospitality Action.
Why?
Charlie wants to replicate real life where we get side-swiped by mental health or accidents that in life we cannot prepare for. Where we rely upon friends & strangers we have never met and have no need to help us. To do just that: help us. Will you?
How?
Help Charlie, by answering his pleas for support!

Leaving the Forum Norwich, on the morning of 8th October at 9am, he aims to arrive at Battersea Park on 13th October to take part in Hospitality Action’s 20km Walk for Wellbeing.
Each day Charlie will put out a plea for help, food, clothing, or someone to walk a little way with him to share his journey to London.
Charlie was supported, and still is, by Hospitality Action, he last attempted to take his own life on 11th August 2019.
Hospitality Action is a charity that is the guardian angel to anyone in hospitality. Hospitality Action has been supporting Charlie and others since 1837 when Queen Victoria ascended the throne.
Charlie is a chef and he deeply understands that he would not be here without his Guardian Angels and one of those was Hospitality Action.
Setting off with little and no training, he knows he will struggle to walk the 113.9 miles. Struggling like anyone does, hit with something they could never prepare for.
This is where Hospitality Action supported Charlie when he confronted his mental health challenges, following 38 years of being lost in utter darkness.
This is his way of paying it forward so Hospitality Action can continue to be a Guardian Angel.
You can help by paying it forward too, as you never know when you will need a Guardian Angel. Support Charlie and Hospitality Action and Mental Health.
