The team here at TWO Services is sad to announce the passing of our founder, Alan Osborn, this week.
Alan left us after a long illness.
He will be very much missed by our colleagues, suppliers and clients – particularly our directors and his sons Barry and Jon, who took to the reigns of the business several years ago but continued to be inspired by their father’s caring nature and community spirit, often leaning on him for advice and insights as they continued to grow the firm beyond its Basildon HQ and into further pockets of the UK.
Alan’s values will always remain at the heart of our company ethos. We will never forget his commitment to caring for the people who relied on – and continue to rely on – TWO Services to keep their organisations running smoothly. Alan recognised the importance of the role we play in the hospitality industry and always pushed for excellence, even when he and his team were facing significant challenges.
You can learn more about Alan’s incredible journey – and discover how he grew our company from a one-man venture to a nationwide success story – here.
Several members of the TWO family were already planning to participate in St Luke’s Loop 2024 on Sunday 6th October, a guided walk through the Essex countryside to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice in Basildon. This walk will now be in memory of Alan, to recognise his contribution to our business and our lives.
The route will take us on a 7.3 mile loop across Langdon Hills Country Park alongside hundreds of other participants, many of whom will be walking to remember a loved one or help raise funds for friends and family members who are still receiving care from either of the charity’s hospices in Basildon and Thurrock, or from the St Luke’s community team, which operates throughout South Essex.
We’ve seen first-hand just how hard the staff at St Luke’s work for their patients. Alan suffered from a life limiting condition for some time, and was affiliated with the organisation for many years, raising awareness of its mission and boosting its fundraising efforts wherever he could. So, it seems only fitting that we honour him by lending our support at this event.
We’ve set up a JustGiving page for the walk and we welcome any donations. You can sponsor us here.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, and please do feel free to share your favourite memories of Alan on our company LinkedIn page, where many of his friends and associates have been leaving their own tributes.
