Motcombs, the restaurant opened in Belgravia in 1982, has announced the opening of its second site, in St John’s Wood in early next month. The 3,000 sq ft restaurant will be situated on Circus Road, just off the high street.
Offering 80 covers, alongside a standalone bar with eight bar stools, and a covered outdoor terrace for 16 guests. The new site will be in keeping with the warm and familiar ‘home away from home’ aesthetic of Belgravia.
Two ornate chandeliers will take centre stage in the front dining room, alongside a traditional wooden and marble topped bar. The decor will continue to celebrate Motcombs love for art, with a collection of paintings displayed throughout the new restaurant.
Head Chef of Motcombs Belgravia Veronica Pestana, who has worked with Motcombs Belgravia for over 10 years, will oversee the menu development and opening of St John’s Wood.
Open from breakfast through to dinner, the menu will reflect the restaurant’s traditional heritage, celebrating classic British, European and Asian favourites that are prepared with carefully sourced seasonal ingredients, with the addition of a New York style pizza menu – exclusive to St John’s Wood.
Ross Anderson, Owner of Motcombs said of the new opening: “After more than 40 years in Belgravia, we are delighted to be opening the doors to our second restaurant in St John’s Wood. We hope to become another local favourite in our new north London neighbourhood, offering the same warm and familiar charm. Whether you are visiting for breakfast, afternoon cocktails or a celebratory dinner, Motcombs is a place for everyone, and we look forward to welcoming you through our St John’s Wood doors.”
