BM Caterers has recognised 30 inspiring team members for their commitment to their communities, the team members and clients, their personal and professional development, and their dedication to the wellbeing of their teams.
More than 100 team members were nominated for the company’s Inspiring People Awards, which were whittled down to 30 award winners, ranging from chefs and HR to baristas and front of house.
Hospitality assistant Daiva Pavasaryte was nominated for her “unwavering dedication to her team” and being “a true team player, uplifting those around her through genuine care and encouragement”.
Pop-up Pioneers chef Sunil Varma was also recognised for his support and commitment not only to BM but charities and social enterprises.
“He consistently puts in time and effort to support various causes, making a significant difference in the community. His commitment and hard work inspire others and have a real, positive impact on many lives,” according to his colleagues.
Hospitality manager Tripti Seth, meanwhile, was described as “a force to be reckoned with”. “She is open to being vulnerable which is ultimately her superpower. She is one of the strongest women I know yet she stays humble and grounded. Her ability to connect with the wider team and build a focus group of individuals who also believe in her vision is admirable,” according to her nomination.
Everyone in BM is invited to nominate a colleague at any level for an award. Nominations are then shortlisted by the executive board and head of people and talent, with each winner receiving a signed certificate, as well as being recognised through a series of celebratory posts on BM’s internal communications app.
Team members may not just be recognised for the work that they do, although this counts towards their nomination, but because they inspire others in the way they live, work and interact with people – both at work and outside of work. This may include charity work, pursuing development and education opportunities, recognition from clients and customers, or powering through difficult circumstances.
Murray Soper, BM’s head of people and talent, said: “Recognition plays a very important part in driving a positive, high performing culture where our teams feel valued for the contribution they make each and every day.
“Our awards are an integral part of a series of initiatives designed to recognise our people. As always, I was very impressed by the quality and number of nominations received, and have enjoyed seeing the peer to peer messages congratulating this year’s winners, demonstrating the genuine affection our team members have for each other.”
