Cleverchefs has won a £1.3 million contract to provide school catering for Selwood Academy and nine primary schools in Somerset’s Frome.
The three-year deal will see Cleverchefs Group retain their partnership with Selwood Academy, who they have worked with since 2021. From September, Selwood Academy will cook, deliver and serve to all nine primary schools in and around Frome.
The kitchens and equipment are currently being upgraded as part of a joint investment plan between Selwood Academy and Cleverchefs.
Head chef Ashley who heads up the catering team for Selwood, said he is looking forward to producing nutritious meals for the schools. On securing the new partnership with Selwood, Ashley commented: “We will be serving 900 meals daily to the schoolchildren and are currently devising some tasty meals using seasonal produce and local ingredients for when terms begins in September.”
Founded in 2015 by Nick Collins, who said of the contract win: “We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Selwood Academy who share our commitment to providing top-quality meals for schoolchildren. At Cleverchefs, we’re driven by a passion for good food and the belief that school meals should be exciting, nutritious and flavoursome. Each dish we prepare is a testament to our high standards of creativity and we will keep innovating to deliver delicious and wholesome recipes to Frome.”
