The Newman appoints Director of Sales ahead of Spring opening

July 22, 2024

The Newman has announced the appointment of Alex Drown as Director of Sales, ahead of its opening next spring.

Alex Drown, Director of Sales, The Newman

Holding more than 18 years’ experience in the luxury and lifestyle hotel markets across London and New York, Drown brings extensive knowledge from The Newman’s key markets. Previous roles include Claridge’s, Mayfair; The Curtain, Shoreditch, Nobu London Portman Square and Gansevoort Meatpacking, New York City.

Drown’s appointment at The Newman marks a return to his home, London, following a role as Director of Leisure Sales at Gansevoort. After an extensive renovation, Drown was instrumental in restoring the hotel to its former glory and reintroducing the property to travel partners from around the world.

“It’s great to be back in London and I am excited to unveil The Newman next year. I am proud to be part of this unique property and neighbourhood, celebrating and promoting both equally. I cannot wait to share it with our guests, industry partners and the Fitzrovia community.” commented Alex Drown.

The Newman is the first hotel from international management company Kinsfolk & Co. Sitting on its namesake Newman Street in Fitzrovia, The Newman fits effortlessly into London’s creative village of Fitzrovia where the culture of Bloomsbury meets the style of Soho. The contemporary hotel with 81 rooms and suites, European brasserie, cocktail bar, and wellness floor, is set to be your ‘new old friend’.
