Following the openings of Park Corner Brasserie and Mayfair’s latest drinks destination, Revery, the hotel announces the opening of two new venues: MR PORTER London and Shanghai Me.
Matthew Mullan, General Manager at London Hilton on Park Lane said of the new openings: “Throughout its 60-year history, London Hilton on Park Lane has always been a symbol of standout culinary excellence for guests and Londoners alike. As we usher in a new era for the hotel through our multi-million-pound refurbishment, we’re excited to unveil our new venues. Embarking upon these new partnerships will take our food and drink offer to the next level, ensuring the hotel remains the destination for discerning diners and global travellers alike.”
MR PORTER
This September, THE ENTOURAGE GROUP will unveil the first London outpost for MR PORTER, its acclaimed Amsterdam fine dining steakhouse, over the lower floor of the hotel.
Artfully blending three concepts in one, MR PORTER will offer a modern steakhouse experience with a chic bar and lounge. Guests will enter into an expansive central bar before making their way to the formal dining area which includes a lounge, chef’s table and open kitchen fire, where they will enjoy a menu including expertly seared steaks, slow-cooked lamb, and a selection of delicious vegetarian dishes.
Yossi Eliyahoo, co-founder THE ENTOURAGE GROUP commented: “The opening of MR PORTER in London is a significant milestone for the MR PORTER brand. We are thrilled to be bringing the restaurant to London, whose glamorous and vibrant energy is the perfect location for the next venue.”
Shanghai Me
Fundamental Hospitality, a leading luxury hospitality group with venues across the Middle East and Europe, will continue its London expansion with the opening of Shanghai Me, a ‘Made in Dubai’ dining experience, on the hotel’s 28th floor at the end of the year, the highest restaurant in Mayfair.
The Art Deco pan-Asian dining experience will offer existing favourites including a dim sum ‘library’, wagyu kushiyaki and miso cod, which will be served amidst unparalleled panoramic views of London.
The sky-high restaurant will boast 1930s Shanghai-inspired interiors by the renowned designer Richard Saunders to match creating an irresistible atmosphere accentuated with deep red velvet chairs and low lighting for a truly glamourous and romantic atmosphere. Shanghai Me will be complimented by the brands lounge concept, Bund. The opulent and richly decorated lounge spot embraces a high-energy atmosphere with eclectic beats.
Evgeny Kuzin, founder and Chairman of Fundamental Hospitality said: “At Fundamental Hospitality, we are committed to surpassing expectations with each new opening. London Hilton on Park Lane has been the city’s hospitality calling card since 1963; with the launch of Shanghai Me, we join them as they enter their next chapter, one that matches our passion for pairing new ideas with classic comfort for the very finest in luxury and experience.”
In spring 2024, the hotel was spotlighted in a four-part documentary series which aired on Channel 5.
This special series took viewers behind the scenes of the transformative renovations, offering an exclusive look at the meticulous work that has gone into modernising this iconic property.
In addition, the documentary introduced the characters who make London Hilton on Park Lane such an extraordinary establishment.
Peter Avis and Rudina Arapi, who were featured in the series, have since been appointed to expanded roles to support the culinary evolution of the property. Peter will oversee Food and Drink Venue Business Development and Community Partnerships supporting Hilton’s Travel with Purpose strategy, whilst Rudina, a lauded sommelier, will step into the role of Director of Wine.
Envisioned by Conrad Hilton as the epitome of modern hospitality back in 1963, this new era pays homage to the hotel’s roots, adding a modern twist and celebrating its location on the edge of one of London’s finest parks.
