Trevors Foodservice celebrated its 60th anniversary in style last Thursday with its biggest and most successful catering exhibition to date and the announcement that it would be moving to state-of-the-art new premises in March 2024.
Taking place at Bolton Wanderers’ Toughsheet Community Stadium on the 2nd November, the catering extravaganza saw over 250 foodservice business owners, chefs, managers, entrepreneurs, and front of house experts in attendance to tap into the latest trends, products, and flavours for the festive season and 2024.
Managing Director Gary Hitchen also announced on the day that Trevors would be moving to its new Fleetwood HQ and warehouse (the historic old Ice Co. premises) on the March 2024.
Gary Hitchen, Managing Director of Trevors Foodservice, said: “It’s been an incredible and, at times, an emotional day for our family and team but we all feel really blessed. Today was about marking our company’s 60th anniversary in style, thanking our incredible suppliers and customers, and showcasing our commitment to shaping the future of the catering industry in the north west for the next 60 years and beyond. I think we smashed it out of the park today and we’re confident our new HQ and warehouse will provide the perfect foundation for another 60-plus years of success.”
The special show featured over 50 leading suppliers who exhibited new products, ingredients, innovations, techniques and solutions to help businesses succeed in the current challenging economic times. There was a wide range of chef demonstrations, samples to try and exclusive on-the-day deals and promotions.
The perfect opportunity to highlight Trevors rich heritage, the day also saw the company donate over 506 kg of food to Blackpool Food Bank.
Kay Derbyshire, National Account Executive for supplier Essential Cuisine who exhibited at the show, commented: “A great day out – everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and Trevors were extremely helpful and welcoming. The stand and atmosphere were brilliant throughout the day, so it was great to be part of the celebrations.”
Attendee Rachel Mayers, an RPJ3 Group Consultant, said: “The Trevors’ tradeshow was really well organised and I really enjoyed it. There were some really good products, innovation and I’ve already had communication from some of the suppliers and I’ll be recommending many products to our schools.”
About Trevors Foodservice
A proudly independent, family-run business, Trevors Foodservice was founded in 1963 and celebrates its 60th anniversary on the 2nd November 2023.
Joining as a fresh faced 19-year-old in 1963, Ken Hitchen quickly made himself indispensable to the business becoming a shareholder along with his wife Heather in 1969.
Initially retail focused, Ken and Heather were crucial in spearheading the company’s move into delivered wholesale in the 80s to take advantage of Blackpool’s thriving hospitality scene.
When founder and majority shareholder Trevor Tasker retired in 1983, Ken and Heather remortgaged everything they owned to acquire his shares and have since turned the business into Blackpool’s number one foodservice supplier.
With their children Gary and Dianne now driving the business forward along with the third generation and grandchild Matthew, the business continues to supply the finest food and drink to schools, colleges, hospitals, care homes, pubs, restaurants, hotels, B&Bs, cafés, leisure centres and other catering businesses across Blackpool, Lancashire and the wider North West.
Trevors Foodservice combines an extensive and fully traceable portfolio of over 2,500 frozen, chilled and ambient goods with the finest customer service, support, advice and innovation. With online ordering, next day deliveries, competitive pricing, a fleet of multi temperature-controlled vehicles and warehouse facilities, Trevors Foodservice has delivered consistently for the North of England’s taste makers for over half a century.
