Ridge Vineyards, Santa Cruz Mountains, Cupertino, California

Wednesday 28th June will see The Art School hosting its next Winemakers Dinner in Liverpool, Ridge Vineyards of Sonoma Country are hosting the evening with Chef Patron Paul Askew.

In 1962, Ridge Vineyards made their first Monte Bello and two years later its first zinfandel. Since then, Ridge Vineyards has continued to champion single-vineyard winemaking, searching California for rare and exceptional vineyards where climate, soil and variety are ideally matched to create their world-class wines.

Their philosophy is rooted in using specific patches of land, named Monte Bello and Lytton Springs to Geyserville and San Lorenzo, amongst select others.

Paul Askew, Chef Patron, The Art School

Ridge Vineyards is among the top 5 wineries to earn the most Top 100 awards since the Wines and Spirits buying guide began in 1988 and they are dedicated to sustainable and responsible wine growing. They have over 6 decades of experience in winemaking and are bringing that experience to The Art School, with special guest Katie Blakely, Ridge Vineyards’ International Sales Manager.

Paul Askew told us what tom expect: “Ridge Vineyards are widely considered to be one of the world’s most eminent producers of fine vintages. Their pedigree is globally significant, with their wines having won blind tasting competitions against Bordeaux classics. That is no mean feat at all.

Katie Blakely, International Sales Manager, Ridge Vineyards

“It’s a momentous moment for myself and The Art School – I’ve wanted this to happen even before we opened the doors of our restaurant, so to have such this prestigious winemaker at The Art School means a lot to me.

Katie Blakely will talk our guests through what they do at Ridge to the five paired wines for our courses at the event.

We’ve had their wines listed at The Art School since we opened our doors in 2014 – they are truly special, from their exquisite Monte Bello red to now offering wonderful rose, dessert, and whites too.”
