Quercus restaurant opens its doors to diners today promising a dining experience that blends the best of British produce, prepared with East Asian flair, inspired by its owner’s Malaysian heritage.
Quercus is committed to sourcing produce from ethical and environmentally aware butchers and day-boat fish suppliers, along with supporting sustainable farming practices with low-mileage transportation.
Head Chef Stephen Englefield has curated an À La Carte menu of dishes highlighting produce from around the British Isles, sourcing the best meat, fish, and vegetables, fused with flavours from East Asia.
“I am more than excited to begin this new journey at Quercus,” shares Head Chef Stephen. “This restaurant takes everything I love about the art and exploration of cooking and encapsulates it in one fantastically diverse menu brimming with clean, fresh flavours. If you can’t get enough of East Asian flavours, yet don’t want to forgo locally sourced British produce, Quercus is the place for you.”
One standout feature of the restaurant is its Josper Grill. Prime cuts of meat and fish will be cooked to perfection on this impressive grill, adding a smokey depth to a selection of dishes.
The restaurant provides a refined and elegant setting, with plush seating, soft lighting, and walls packed with an eclectic array of artwork.
Meanwhile, the restaurant’s courtyard terrace features the restaurant’s namesake tree, and offers the perfect spot for those who enjoy al fresco dining and drinks in the summer.
An expertly curated wine list complements the restaurant’s East Asian-inspired dishes and includes everything from snappy clean white varietals to juicily delicious low-tannin reds, focusing on well-known favourites from both traditional vineyard heartlands and the New World.
Quercus derives its name from the ‘Quercus Palustris’ oak tree that stands in its courtyard, providing a soothing and calming atmosphere for al fresco diners.
