Don’t be fooled by its modest and subdued exterior, the Sun Street Hotel in Shoreditch is a haven of luxury.
Its lavish décor welcomes you with open arms, smiling faces, and on this occasion a welcome glass of champagne. This occasion being the Bottomless Brunch in The Orangery. A stunning atrium bursting with natural light, exposed brickwork, palm trees and the most remarkable wall covering depicting a rainforest. It would be very easy to while away the hours here.
The crowd is as elegant and eclectic as the music, quirky and stylish and a great place to people-watch while you quietly quaff your Taittinger.
With a breakfast menu that will suit everyone’s tastes from their signature English Muffin with London Smoked Salmon, avocado, poached egg and Hollandaise to the more unusual Chicken Schezwan and its superb sweetcorn fritters.
There’s even the option for a burger or steak and chips for those more lunch than breakfast.
For me, the star of the show is the Double Stack Pancakes. Light, fluffy, and divine. Absolutely smothered in Kaya jam, fresh berries, and lashings of fresh Chantilly cream.
A glorious spot to start your weekend, for special occasions with your girlfriends or boyfriends, or even better, for your morning after the night before. (Don’t forget your sunglasses though if you are the latter).
Thank you to the team at The Orangery especially Bartek whose service and personality made us feel like family.
