By Denis Sheehan MIH: Peter Avis to welcome not one, but two Kitchen Porters for lunch at Galvin at Windows.
Following our recent competition to provide lunch and career advice from an ex KP, Peter Avis FIH, General Manager, Galvin at Windows, to another, we are delighted to announce we have two winners.
The volume and quality of the nominations was inspiring, and difficult to judge, the final two proved impossible to separate, so we didn’t and awarded both as winners.
Bolly Joof, a KP at BT Murrayfield Stadium, nominated by Kieran Wight, Head Chef, Scottish Rugby Hospitality.
Dennis Frigot, a trainee KP at The Crumbs Project Training Centre, nominated by Ursula Boardman, Head of Centre, The Crumbs Project.
Bolly, Kieran, Dennis, and Ursula will all join Peter for lunch where he will pass on career advice and help to Dennis and Bolly, similar to the help and advice he was given as a KP at the start of his career.
The competition was enabled by Meiko UK, through The Kitchen Porters Club, run by H&C News. So, Paul Anderson, Managing Director, Meiko UK will also attend the lunch, as will I on behalf of H&C News to report on what transpires. Also Joining the occasion will be Professor Peter Jones MBE, Chairman, The Crumbs Project.
A full report of the lunch will follow, video coverage of the occasion will include interviews with everyone taking part.
