By Angela Green, Content Executive: Housekeeping Today return to The Belfry in support of the IoH’s Youth Council.

We’re delighted to announce that a team led by co-publisher Mark Gleed will once again represent Housekeeping Today and Laundry & Cleaning Today at the IoH Golf Day, in Partnership with Caterer.com.
The four-ball team event on 25 May at The Belfry Hotel and Golf Resort near Birmingham will raise funds for the Institute of Hospitality’s Youth Council initiative, which provides mentoring, networking and professional development support for young hospitality professionals.
Gleed says: “We didn’t win last time and perhaps will try harder this year, but that’s not what this event is about. Our magazines recognise the importance of recruiting and then supporting young people in the hospitality sector so that they value and sing the praises of their chosen profession.
“In Housekeeping Today, for instance, we regularly profile those who have started working in hotels straight after college and are now at executive level. They always talk about how mentoring and training have helped them in their careers – and the challenges facing those just joining the world of hospitality. They are our future cheerleaders so we’re very pleased to help raise funds for this IoH project.”
Learning of Housekeeping Today’s return to take part in this year’s event, IoH CEO Robert Richardson FIH extended his appreciation saying: “Our golf day, in Partnership with Caterer.com last year raised more than five thousand pounds which helps us to support even more young people through their early career.
“Now more than ever we need to ensure young people coming into hospitality and catering are supported, nurtured, and developed. The funds raised through our golf day enable us to do this. I am grateful to Mark Gleed and Housekeeping Today for their support as this helps us safeguard the vital work done by our Youth Council.”
The event is held by the IoH in partnership with Caterer.com and organised by H&C News.
Housekeeping Today will join other hospitality and catering teams at The Belfry on Thursday 25th May to enjoy a day of golf, as well as a sumptuous dinner in the evening.
A Four-Ball Team including a three-course dinner in the evening is £1,195 + VAT.
