New Liverpool restaurant, NORD, has revealed a glimpse of its Northern produce focussed menu ahead of opening.
Located in Plaza, the 18-storey venue in Liverpool, brand new luxury dining space NORD, is set to open in March, operated by GSG.Hospitality and Chef Daniel Heffy.
The restaurant will offer relaxed dining with a focus on ingredients from regional producers and a menu that celebrates Northern heritage.
Influenced by Chef Daniel Heffy’s time in Scandinavia, the NORD menu highlights locally sourced ingredients prepared in a contemporary way.
Dishes include white crab, sour cream, pickled silver onion & fennel on butter fried toast. Burrata with roasted butternut, kale salad and sage & hazelnut dressing, and Chargrilled pork belly with baby gem & coriander salad. 80s dinner party favourite, Baked Alaska, will also be making an appearance, made using a chocolate from Denmark.
A native of Liverpool, Heffy’s career has spanned the city including founding supper club, Secret Diners Club, before being appointed Head Chef at local favourite, Buyers Club. He was also a driving force behind the successful street food concept CAHITA.
Heffy then moved to Stockholm in 2017 to work in 3 Michelin Starred Frantzén, widely renowned as one of the best restaurants in the world before joining the esteemed 1 Michelin Star Nordic restaurant, Adam/Albin as Head Chef.
Daniel Heffy said of the opening: “I’m incredibly excited to finally reveal a taste of what’s to come at NORD. Whilst the menu focusses on mainly British ingredients and style, there will also be influences from my experience in Stockholm with plenty of fresh fish, pickled items and contrasting flavours.
“Partnering with the best suppliers the North has to offer has always been the ethos for NORD and I’m proud to be working with some of the top businesses around to create a menu unlike the city has seen before.”
