Galvin at Windows will hold an exclusive wine dinner with Helen McGinn, author of ‘The Knackered Mother’s Wine Club’ and wine expert on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen and This Morning. The evening will take place on 15th February hosted by Chris Galvin, Chef Patron of the Galvin Restaurants.

Dinner will include an exclusive menu featuring canapés, four courses with matching wines, coffee, and petit fours. The wine paired menu has been specially created by Head Chef Marc Hardiman with wine hand-selected by Helen and Galvin at Windows’ head sommelier Rudina Arapi.

The inaugural wine evening will take place in The Balcony, the semi-private dining area of the iconic restaurant overlooking the picturesque London skyline. Head Chef Marc Hardiman has developed a menu of delicious British dishes made from a selection of the finest seasonal ingredients including Cornish cod, dry-aged beef sirloin and Yorkshire Rhubarb.

Helen and Rudina have expertly crafted wine pairings to complement the rich and mouth-watering flavours created by Chef Hardiman. Their selection includes a variety of five wines from different regions in Italy, South Africa, France and England.

The menu starts with a light and fruity 2020 Valentina Passalacqua to accompany the Heritage beetroot salad with goat’s curd, blood orange and walnut granola. This natural orange wine is made using biodynamic grapes farmed from the Puglia region in Italy.

The Cornish cod course is paired with an aromatic, creamy and minerally Chenin Blanc by Reyneke in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

Marc’s renowned dry-aged beef sirloin is accompanied by an organic 2019 Faugères ‘Léonides’ produced high up in the hills of France’s Languedoc region by the Domaine du Météore, a fresh yet complex red wine with soft tannins and a nose of blackcurrants, thyme and balsamic.

The final course, Yorkshire rhubarb trifle, is paired with an intensely perfumed sweet 2020 Muscat de Beaumes de Venise by Domaine des Bernardins from the Rhône-Valley in France. This wine is characterised by aromas and flavours of apricots, peaches, honey and raisins, a perfect way to end this special meal.

The set menu costs £149 per person and is inclusive of a glass of Nyetimber, canapés, four-course dinner, wines, coffee, and petit fours.

The Taste of Hilton at Galvin at Windows’ wine evening occurs on Wednesday 15th February and begins at 7:30pm.
