Opened in summer 2022, THE NICI in Bournemouth has announced Marcus O’Leary has joined the team as its new General Manager.
With nearly 30 years international experience, primarily with Marriott Vacations Worldwide, as Vice- President of Resort Operations, O’Leary brins international expertise to the position.
Well versed in delivering brand standards, O’Leary led the on-site resort experience programming for the entire brand, including resorts in Hawaii, Aruba, St Kitts, Phuket, and Bali, as well as over 50 properties on mainland USA, he brings that experience to THE NICI.
Having returned from Marriott Vacations Worldwide Global Head Quarters in Orlando Florida, in 2020, O’Leary spent the last two years heading up the team at Iconic Luxury Hotel’s Lygon Arms, delivering luxury guest experiences in the Cotswolds.
With further plans for expansion in 2023, O’Leary will also prove instrumental in delivering a successful hotel operating model, to be rolled out to future sites.

Having completed the first phase of refurbishment, with a £20m investment so far, THE NICI has 84 luxury bedrooms, many with sea views, garden hot tub suites, the South Beach Restaurant, Bar & Terrace, an indoor cinema and new meetings and events facilities.
THE NICI is now embarking on the next stage of development, building on its five-star hotel concept with the addition of a 30m feature outdoor pool, luxury spa, state-of-the-art fitness facilities and holiday cottages, set to complete by spring 2023.
