Preferred Hotel Group, the parent company of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Beyond Green, and PTG Consulting, has announced their rebranded to Preferred Travel Group.
This nuanced and important change to Preferred’s corporate identity is designed to describe the company’s growing suite of services more accurately, which includes six hospitality, travel and sustainability brands, marking the company’s evolution within the wider travel industry.
“Our company’s repositioning comes at a time when enthusiasm for the possibilities of travel is at an all-time high. As we look ahead to 2023 and beyond, the simple inclusion of ‘travel’ in our name clarifies what we do and the solutions we provide to both travellers and travel professionals,” said CEO Lindsey Ueberroth.
Ueberroth continued: “It is a great honour to be the partner of choice for more than 1,100 one-of-a-kind hotels and an expanding portfolio of global destinations. Our new name represents just how far the Preferred brand has come since it was established by a small group of like-minded hoteliers 55 years ago.”
Preferred Travel Group currently counts four hotel brands, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Beyond Green, Historic Hotels of America, and Historic Hotels Worldwide. Two consultancy brands, PTG Consulting and Beyond Green Travel, specialising in destination and hospitality brand representation and sustainable travel services respectively, and the world’s biggest loyalty program for independent hotels, I Prefer Hotel Rewards, which counts over 4.5 million enrolled travellers globally.
Fueled by the company-wide brand promise ’Believe in Travel’, Preferred Travel Group champions an unwavering belief in the transformative power of travel and its ability to enrich lives, inspire greater respect for the planet, and expand hearts and minds to other cultures and ways of living.
Preferred Travel Group recently became a signatory of the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism.
The Glasgow Declaration encourages the acceleration of climate action in tourism by securing commitments to reduce emissions in tourism by at least 50% over the course of this decade and achieve Net Zero as soon as possible before 2050.
As a signatory of the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism, Preferred Travel Group commits to develop and deliver a climate action plan by September 2023.
The plan will align with the five pathways of the Declaration (Measure, Decarbonize, Regenerate, Collaborate, Finance), report publicly on an annual basis, and work in a collaborative spirit, sharing good practices and solutions, and disseminating information.
