IoH Youth Council Chair, Katariina Reissaar AIH will join the panel at this year’s Hospitality Apprenticeship Showcase on 8 February 2023 at the House of Commons to celebrate National Apprentice Week 2023, alongside IoH CEO Robert Richardson FIH MI.
The panel, hosted by Jill Whittaker OBE FCA FRSA FIH FBII will also include a representative from the UK government’s Department for Education, plus Tim Painter, HR Director, Stonegate Pub Company who champions the company’s Award winning ‘bar to boardroom’ Albert Training programme and a number of Fuller, Smith & Turner and Stonegate Group Apprentices.
Speaking about her first engagement since she took over as IoH Youth Council Chair, Katariina said: “I am excited and grateful to have this opportunity to take part in such an important event. It is essential to promote hospitality apprenticeships. As a representative of the IoH Youth Council, I am committed to helping promote the opportunities that young people have to study and work as an apprentice and be part of this amazing industry.
“In my main role working as FOM at Leonardo Royal Hotels, one of my new receptionists has just started her apprenticeship and she is finding it more rewarding than she ever expected. My advice to anyone thinking about starting an apprenticeship would be to do it. It works for the employer and employee and really does provide you with excellent skills for life.”
National Apprenticeship Week 2023 runs from 6-12 February 2023 and is a week-long celebration of apprenticeship opportunities and experiences.
