By Angela Green, Content Executive, H&C News: Chester Racecourse’s Restaurant 1539 appoints new GM

Following the recent transformation of restaurant 1539’s interiors, the award-winning restaurant at Chester Racecourse has appointed Andrew Culshaw as GM to lead the team forward.
In his new role, Culshaw will oversee all operations across 1539, the roof top bars, event spaces, dining and the wine room.
Culshaw joins Chester Race Company with 20 years senior level experience in highly regarded restaurants across the North. He spent 5 years with The Art School in Liverpool, where he managed operations under chef patron Paul Askew.
He has also held general manager roles with both The Swan in Tarporley and Heathcote’s. Culshaw was also a managing partner in the team who took the La Tasca tapas chain from an independent, to 54 nationwide restaurants.
