It was a balmy night on our visit and the luxurious and beautifully designed open terrace tucked behind the streets of the busy Tottenham Court Road with views over central London was a very welcome respite from the underground.
The warm weather may be over, but there’s still enough sunlight left in the day for lazy rooftop evenings, especially when you’re sipping cocktails by Will Meredith and enjoying a range of delights from the new menu at the Phoenix Bar.
Will Meredith, previously with Dandelyan & Lyaness, has recently joined the Tattu family as their new Head of Bars and what better way to celebrate than with a new bar menu.

An exotic amalgamation of the well-honed talents of Will and the team at Tattu, the inaugural menu at the Phoenix Bar takes you on sensuous journey across China marrying food and drink with harmonising fundamental Chinese ingredients. My favourites were the Meridien and the chicken truffle shumai, and the Jiyang Colada and the Wagyu rib eye dumplings.
The cocktail menu was a passage for the palate, with libations ranging from sweet, The Manodopop Bellini, to sour, The intriguing Sesame Sour, and everything in between especially The Fruit Mountain tea.
Will Meredith, head of bars, Tattu seemed excited about his new role telling me: “We are at the beginning of a very exciting journey here at the Phoenix Bar.” I would have to agree.
Contemporary Chinese classics with very complimenting cocktails, Will Meredith and the team at The Phoenix Bar offer you a hidden gem that you don’t want to miss.
