By Angela Green, Content Executive, H&C News: Wilson Vale announces partnership with Social Enterprise UK.
Joining forces with the UK’s membership body for social enterprises, Wilson Vale has announced its Social Enterprise UK partnership, confirming its goal to partner with businesses that put at least half of their profits into social or environmental projects.
This announcement further echoes Wilson Vale’s ethos of putting purpose ahead of profit, through meaningful new collaborations to build on its existing environmental and social agenda.
Wilson Vale’s ESG report on their commitments and progress – The Full Works – includes social responsibility actions such as social enterprise engagement, sustainability events and hospitality action collaborations as well as environmental commitment initiatives like its solar-powered head office, fully electric fleet programme, zero single-use plastic and site-based composting and recycling.
Andy Daly, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Social Enterprise UK, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Wilson Vale to the Social Enterprise UK community. We have had some very encouraging initial conversations around the work Wilson Vale is already doing to ‘Buy Social’ and we look forward to working together to build on this and drive further support for the UK’s growing movement of social enterprises.”
Graeme Watson, ESG Director at Wilson Vale, said: “Becoming a Supporting Member of Social Enterprise UK was the natural next step for us as part of our ongoing commitment to support social change. We’re incredibly proud to support Social Enterprise UK on its mission to create a fairer economy and a more sustainable future for everyone and look forward to partnering with social enterprise suppliers to get stuck in and make a real difference in our sector and beyond.”
Wilson Vale specialises in high quality catering predominantly within business and industry and independent school markets, employing 650 people and working with over 300 British suppliers.
