Matt Davies & Liam DillonThe Boat Inn, in Lichfield, will be hosting a charity dinner on Wednesday 20th July to raise proceeds for Hospitality Action. Liam Dillon is joining forces with Staffordshire Chef, Matt Davies to host the event.
Hospitality Action supports those who work or have worked in the hospitality industry and helps with range of challenges from physical illness or mental health issues to financial difficulty, family problems and addiction.
Matt Davies worked with some of the UK’s best restaurants before suffering a life-threatening and career ending injury and more recently a mental-health battle.
Following his accident, the much-loved Michelin-listed chef turned his attention to supporting talented young chefs and now holds the prestigious post of Vice President of the British Culinary Federation and is an Ambassador for Hospitality Action.
The Hospitality Action Dinner at will take place on the 20th July with the restaurant donating £25 per guest to the charity and will feature a charity auction.
Liam Dillion commented: “Chef Matt is the ‘godfather’ of the midland food scene. I have enormous respect for what he has done in the industry. Now not being able to be in the kitchen he is still pushing to make a difference and I admire him for this.
“I’m fully supportive of his charity work, which helped him so much in an extremely difficult time. It’s going to be another great event and it’s a privilege that Matt wants to hold the event at The Boat Inn.”
Matt Davies added by saying: “I know just how tough it can be to navigate a career in hospitality after a life changing incident. I’m a proud ambassador of Hospitality Action, which offers vital assistance to those in the industry. I can’t wait to get back in the kitchen with Liam for what is set to be a really special night.”
