The Grove has announced a range of promotions to its Senior Leadership Team. Joanna Barnett to Hotel Manager, Anna Darnell to Resort Director, Andy Watson to Financial Controller, and Danielle Michaels to HR director.
Barnett and Darnell’s responsibilities focus on setting the strategy for the business and shaping the direction of the luxury hotel, as well as operations and revenue management across the property.
Anna Darnell, joined The Grove in March 2005, having previously started her career as a trainee golf professional and moving to the Middle East to teach golf. On return to the UK, Anna joined The Grove where she began her journey in event sales, before moving to golf operations, and then being promoted to Director of Golf in 2011 followed by Resort Leisure Director taking overall responsibility for Spa, Activities and Leisure revenue.
Hotel Manager, Joanna Barnett, started her career in hospitality with a place on the Savoy Group Management training programme. The five year program saw Joanna gain experience across the group including The Connaught, The Savoy, Wiltons and The Berkeley Hotel.
Joanna progressed her career working at Browns Hotel and The Landmark, and took on a new role at The Grove as Event Sales Director in 2013. Joanna’s role at The Grove has gradually evolved, seeing her take on more responsibilities over time, including F&B operations across the property, and also organising the NATO conference at The Grove in 2019. Joanna now takes on the role of Hotel Manager, as The Grove looks to the future with a strong new leadership team in place.
In other new hires across the business, Lucy Chase-Gardener has been appointed by the business as Group Head of Marketing in March 2022. Lucy joins from Eataly, and is working with the Senior Leadership Team on the strategy for the business with an exciting time ahead for The Grove.
