By Angela Green, Content Executive, H&C News: Bristol’s latest four-star hotel opening a homecoming for new GM.
The General Manager of Bristol’s newest four-star hotel has described her appointment as “a homecoming nine years in the making”.
Originally from Dublin, Alison Mansfield has deep roots in the Bristol area and was delighted when Dalata Hotel Group Plc, operators of Clayton Hotels and Maldron Hotels, announced they were planning to open a new 255-bedroom hotel there.
The Clayton Hotel Bristol City, which has created 80 new jobs, is situated in a prime location in the city and breathes new life into the historic Everards printing works on Broad Street.
Mansfield said of her appointment: “I have always wanted to move to Bristol, my husband is a Bristolian, so it really feels like my roots are here. I have been asking Dalata to open a hotel in the city for the past nine years and I was thrilled when I was appointed General Manager at the Clayton Hotel Bristol City.”
Mansfield has experience of opening new hotels, after previously moving to Wales to help open the Clayton Hotel Cardiff.
