Hospitality is yet again being treated as nothing more than a sacrificial lamb for government in its efforts to draw attention away from the hospitality freely available inside 10 Downing Street last winter.
The reality of one rule for us and another for them, led by a man whose arrogance knows no bounds, being on all too open shameless display.
The PM yesterday had the temerity to follow up his very careful use of language in PMQ’s to apply the diversionary tactic of imposing further restrictions on hospitality, and the wider economy with no thought for the livelihoods of millions of people.
Last November and December 10 Downing Street became party central. When your hospitality business was forced to close, hospitality was freely available to members of the government and their friends.
The continuous and repeated denial of any and all of the Downing Street shenanigans despite countless well connected journalists having first hand testimony to the contrary, almost beggars belief, but unfortunately not, we have all had to become accustomed to a government that lies.
To add further insult to injury, ITV this morning have confirmed cabinet secretary Simon Case, tasked by the PM with investigating claims of the Christmas Party on December 18, was at the party.
In the days, weeks, and months ahead while those restrictions bite further into hospitality, don’t expect any recompense from a government whose actions are the personification of hypocrisy.
