William Biles, a trainee at Crumbs found himself face-to-face with Rick Stein when Rick was visiting his restaurant at Sandbanks.
William is on a placement at the restaurant where he is putting into practice the skills that he’s learnt through the Crumbs hospitality training programme. Crumbs and is a local charity, operating from its training centre in Ensbury Park that provides professional hospitality training for adults with learning and other mental health disabilities.
Ursula Boardman, Head of Centre and training and development manager commented: “William was so thrilled and has learnt so much in the short time that he is been working with Louis Rogers the general manager and the Steins team. To have that opportunity and to be so accepted by the team demonstrates the value that out trainees can make to the industry and the true meaning of hospitality by the industry.”
An equally thrilled Louis Rogers, General Manager of Steins Sandbanks told us: “I am delighted we have been able to welcome William to the restaurant and give him the opportunity to build on the skills he has learned with Crumbs in our kitchen with the support of our chefs. I look forward to developing our relationship with Crumbs further to offer support and opportunities to trainees in the future.”
