Seductive treats for foodservice this autumn

October 6, 2021

Trusted foodservice brand Country Range is helping caterers with their sweet offerings with the addition of four new seductive treats for autumn.

The new range, which includes a Rhubarb & Custard Tart, Chocolate & Ginger Cake, Pear & Maple Slice and Plum & Almond Slice, just need to be defrosted overnight before serving. Great for a sublime speedy serve whatever the hour, these moreish cakes can be warmed in a conventional oven or microwave.

The Fab Four

Rhubarb & Custard Tart – Sweet pastry filled with tangy rhubarb and dairy custard topped with vanilla sponge and an oaty crumble. Delicious when served with vanilla ice cream.

Chocolate & Ginger Cake – A sticky gluten free spiced ginger cake, filled with a chocolate icing, topped with a chocolate ganache and crystallised stem ginger. Double up on the chocolate by serving warm with a chocolate ice cream.

Plum & Almond Slice – Plum compote on sweet pastry baked with almond sponge and finished with plums and flaked almonds. Beautiful with a brew or even more indulgent when served with custard, clotted cream or ice cream.

Pear & Maple Slice – Poached pears baked with a silky vanilla sponge and dulce de leche drizzled with maple syrup. Versatile enough to accompany a hot beverage or take centre stage as a dessert on a menu or buffet when served with fresh whipped cream.

Kate Bancroft, Country Range Group Marketing Manager, said: “Whether your customers and guests want to celebrate or commiserate the end of summer, cake is always the answer and our new super selection of seductive autumn treats are just the ticket for success this September. Perfect for kitchens lacking the time and space to create their own cakes in-house, these four fab desserts are sure to be hit with caterers due to their great flavour and speedy preparation.”

The Group also publishes its trade magazine Stir it up 10 times a year, which features the latest food, drink and industry news, Country Range brand promotions and in-depth trend reports and sector specific guides to support and inspire all foodservice caterers.

The Group is dedicated to improving sustainability practices across the membership including finding long-term solutions for the Country Range packaging, while still maintaining the same high quality of the products across the range. As new products are developed, the Group is looking to reduce the amount of packaging used and increase the recyclability of the materials it contains. The Group is also working to remove “Problem Plastics” from their range such as black plastic by the end of 2021, of which there has been over 30 tonnes removed from the range so far. Alongside this, CRG will also move away from white cardboard in order to increase the level of recycled material in the outer cases used.
