Clink Events, the external catering service run by prisoner training scheme The Clink Charity, will be partnering with Woolwich Works, London as an approved caterer when they open their doors 23 September 2021.
Woolwich Works has transformed five historic Grade II and Grade II* listed buildings on the Royal Arsenal into what is set to become a thriving new space for events and the arts. The multi-million pound project led by Royal Borough of Greenwich will provide extensive event and conference facilities across seven flexible spaces able to host events for over 1,000 guests in a single space.
Woolwich Works will provide events buyers with a creative new space, featuring strong links to the arts and culture industry. Woolwich Works is easily accessed from central London, Docklands, London City Airport and major road networks.
Commenting on the partnership, Jonny Whitfield, Clink Events Managing Director said: “We are thrilled that Clink Events has been appointed as an approved caterer to Woolwich Works and we are very excited to start working there. Woolwich Works is an amazing new venue featuring large well-lit spaces that are very adaptable for large dinners, conferences and product launches, all kitted out with the latest technology. This is a fantastic opportunity for The Clink Events to grow, enabling us to train and find employment opportunities for more ex-offenders and vulnerable adults. Our ethos around training, rehabilitation and supporting people to enable their true potential are very much shared with Woolwich Works.”
Justicia Adjei, Sales Manager from Woolwich Works commented: “We are so excited to have The Clink Events on board as one of our caterers; their work aligns with the objectives of Woolwich Works. We equally believe in providing opportunities no matter what your background and are so pleased that we can stretch this principle across the whole business. We are looking forward to hosting amazing corporate and private events in the coming months and years alongside their team.”
As part of its commitment to rehabilitation, 100% of the profits made from Clink Events catering at Woolwich Works events will be used to help fund The Clink Charity’s training projects, which train up to 200 men and women prisoners every day, and release 500 qualified Clink Graduates into employment per annum.
