Following the murder of hotelier Sir Richard Sutton last Wednesday, and the attempted murder of his wife Anne Schreiber, still in hospital in a critical condition, the police have arrested Thomas Schreiber.
He has been charged with murder and attempted murder following a 100 mile car chase across five counties that required an armed force stop.
Thomas Schreiber is 34 years old, the son of Anne Schreiber, and the step-son of Sir Richard Sutton. He will now appear before magistrates at court in Poole, Dorset tomorrow.
Sir Richard Sutton was 83 and a very wealthy man, the Sunday Times Rich List 2020 reported his personal wealth at circa £300 million.
The baronet created a vast property and farming portfolio, but was best known as a hotelier. His hotel collection included the Athenaeum, Mayfair, London and the Sheraton Grand, on London’s Park Lane, MGallery hotels in Bath, Cheltenham and Windsor amongst others.
