Last night police were called to the north Dorset home of hotelier Sir Richard Lexington Sutton, owner of the Athenaeum, Mayfair, and the Sheraton Grand, Park Lane. He was found dead on arrival after suffering fatal knife wounds.
His wife Anne Schreiber is now fighting for her life in hospital also suffering from knife wounds in the same attack.
A 34 year-old man believed to be known to both of the victims, was arrested some 100 miles away from the scene of the attack in West London three hours later.
83 year-old Baronet, Sir Richard Lexington Sutton, was not only one of the UK’s richest hoteliers, but one of the wealthiest people in the UK with a fortune of circa £300 million and ranked 435 on the Sunday Times Rich List.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
