The Clink Charity Hospitality Golf Day 2021, in association with Meiko, taking place in June at The Belfry will welcome a new team this year thanks to Meiko UK’s Kitchen Porters Club.
The new team will be captained by Raul Noja Garcia, a kitchen porter at the Hilton in York who was nominated by his colleague, Saurabh Prabhakar, Executive Chef, Hilton, York and Culinary Learning and Development Chef, Hilton UK & Ireland.
Prabhakar entered Garcia in the competition run by Meiko UK’s Kitchen Porters Club to lead a four ball team out at The Belfry, and have the team buggy for the day driven by Chef and Restaurateur Cyrus Todiwala OBE.
The entries received were all of the highest calibre, emphasising why KP’s across hospitality in the UK are held in such high esteem by their colleagues. Videos of KP’s dancing while they worked were submitted alongside eloquent paragraphs of text showing appreciation and acknowledgement of their role in providing hospitality.
The judging was tough but at the end of the process the decision was unanimous, and KP Raul Noja Garcia won the day.
